The Wait Is Hard, but Happy Chinese New Year!

Though this is a very exciting 2 weeks for the Chinese people (Chinese New Year), for those of us waiting to be united with our children, it's a very difficult delay in the process since the Adoption Affairs offices are closed.  I had hoped that they might clear their desks before they left to go visit their families.  However, it appears that for the most part the approvals that were sent out were TAs (Travel Approvals) and not too many LOAs (Letters of Approval).  So, I'm really hoping that the LOAs will come right after Chinese New Year!

I am on day 30 today of my wait (but who's counting?....I AM!).  Typically the wait is around 45-50 days, but a lot depends on which province your child is in among other unknowns.

Please pray for little Kaylee as it is frigid in Hohhot right now and heat is usually very limited at the orphanages.

Although it is causing a delay in processing, I do wish all of the people of China a very safe and Happy Chinese New Year as they travel all across the country to be with family and celebrate!

I Have LID!

Exciting news came from Dillon today! My dossier was actually logged in on December 27th in China! It simply didn't show up on China's website until today. Typically it's 1-2 months to get LOA (Letter of Approval) after the log in date. My prayer is that it comes before Chinese New Year which is the week of January 23rd.

It's one more step toward getting her here, so it's a day to celebrate! I am now LID! Lots of acronyms, huh? You can find a list on the left side of this page.

The projection based on online forums and national averages would put us traveling in Late April. Of course I'm praying for sooner! Dillon has prepared me for 5-6 months. It's very hard to guess accurately when you're dealing with foreign governments. In the meantime, I pray for this little one and dream of the day when I travel halfway around the globe to get her!

Update received from China today!

Exciting news! I received updated photos and medical records on little Kaylee today. She's so darling! She is now walking and saying 2-3 word sentences! She loves hugs and is quiet. She loves music too! She is a little smaller than the average American baby, which is typical. I hope to post new pictures soon.

I'm still waiting on my LID (Login Date). Evidently I may be logged in but we simply haven't been notified yet.

It is an excruciating wait, especially after seeing her sweet picture today. Without a doubt the hardest thing I've ever done. It makes it difficult to concentrate on anything else. I so appreciate your prayers for this to proceed smoothly and quickly.
